A Small-Town Murder Mystery
A family tragedy reopens a cold case, and you're right in the middle of it.

Coming to Kickstarter in November
A solo murder mystery campaign game. Solve your father's unfinished case in a town that wants its secrets buried.
From the studio behind Storyfold: Wildwoods. Leave your email for exclusive Kickstarter content and the link the morning the campaign opens.
“Storyfold is an immensely fun and fluid solo game experience.”

THE STORY
Declan is a Boston detective, called home to the small town of Sun Haven after his father's sudden death. Hidden in his father's desk are original police case files that should be sitting in a county evidence room. Before Declan can ask why, a body turns up at the Triple J Ranch, and Naomi, his father's old colleague, wants him there before the case is officially opened. The closed files and the open case are about to collide.

How it plays
Every scene opens with a page of the Storybook. Roll five dice and place them in the Case Row to Assess, Interact, Investigate, or Confront before the Time marker runs out. Obstacles wear down Declan's Confidence, and if Doubt wins the scene, the story carries on anyway, shaped by what you did.
Set up in under two minutes and save anytime. The Prologue teaches the rules as you play, so there's no rulebook to study before your first session.
The short version
A family tragedy reopens a cold case, and you're right in the middle of it.
When Doubt gets the better of Declan, the case keeps going. Your actions will progress a branching story to its ultimate conclusion.
Storyfold: Buried Truths is a standalone game on the same system as Storyfold: Wildwoods, which is now published in 13 languages. You don't need Wildwoods to play.

Questions
November, on Kickstarter. We'll tell the list the exact day before we tell anyone else.
No. Buried Truths is a standalone game. It runs on the same system as Wildwoods, so if you've played that you'll know your way around, but nothing from it is needed.
It's a one-player game. Plenty of people play it with a partner or a friend anyway, reading the scenes aloud and deciding the dice together, and enjoy it that way.
A scene takes somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes, and setup takes under two. Stop after one or keep going. The Storybook holds your place.
On Kickstarter first. Retail comes later, and we'll say more about that during the campaign.
English at launch. Storyfold: Wildwoods ended up in 13 languages through partner publishers. We'll say what's happening with Buried Truths once we have confirmed agreements in place.
